OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview)
OPI is an exam that asses your speaking ability. It is an interview assessment exam and it takes around 20 or 30 minutes. It is not only for the English language exam. You can find all the languages down here.

What is OPIC?
OPIC is the computer-based exam of OPI. The same assessment is happening by the computer base.
How much you should pay for the OPI exam?

Who should take an OPI or OPIC?
Anyone can take OPI or OPIC who wants to prove the speaking level of a language. OPI shows your speaking level of a language. So, you have to realize that first. If speaking is not enough for you then you have to choose another exam.
IELTS or OPI?
Actually we can not compare IELTS and OPI. Because they are totally different exams. We can only compare the speaking section of the exams. If you want to prove only your speaking ability of English then you can take IELTS or OPI.
In addition, for IELTS, you can only prove your English level of speaking. But in OPI, you can prove many other languages. On the other hand, In IELTS, you can also show your writing, listening and reading skills.
As you see, these exams are not really comparable.
